A player farming with Winnie the Pooh and friends.

Gardening is one of the many fun activities the player can do in Disney Magical World and Disney Magical World 2 in Rabbit's Garden in the Hundred acre wood. Basics[]

Stand over the patch of soil where you want to plant and press A to open up the seed selection screen. Press A again to plant the seed. After planting, you can water the plant by pressing A near the plant. Some seeds will require to be watered more than one time, and each fresh watering lasts for 60 minutes. If you don't water an seed that grows for at least an hour before it finishes growing, it won't grow until you water it again. You can also plant the same seed in multiple spots by pressing Y on each space to keep planting the same seed. Sometimes, the Winnie-the-Pooh characters will water the plants for you, and Owl in particular is of good use since he waters the entire field, regardless if the patch has a plant or not.

After the seed is planted and watered, it will take anywhere from 3 minutes to 2 and a half hours to finish growing. Whenever something is ready to be picked or can be harvested it will gain a sparkle and you will be prompted to press A to harvest.

Sometimes, purple weeds will grow around your plants, which will hinder the growth of crops and make them produce less harvest if they're left there for a long time. In addition, they grow larger and more widespread over time, and if you leave and enter the wood after clearing a field with many weeds, there might just be more waiting for you when you come back, so it's best to double check. To remove them, move up to one and press A, making your character pull it out of the ground. Sometimes, the Winnie-the-Pooh characters may pull out weeds for you, saving the trouble of you having to pull them out. Tigger in particular is useful since he clears the entire field of weeds.

Unlocking the Garden Area[]

When you reach 16 stickers, you can unlock an episode in the 100 Acre Wood called "Grow Plants in the Field!" You'll be able to plant in a 2x2 square field. Once you unlock more episodes, the field will grow, and eventually, you'll be able to plant in a 4x4 square field.

Chain Gardening[]

Sometimes when you plant a seed and harvest the resulting crop, you will receive a seed different than the one you originally planted. Some seeds cannot be found in quests or shops, and the only way to acquire the resulting plants is by a method called Chain Gardening. Planting a seed next to a Seed of Bounty or using a Good Luck Charm increases the chance of getting a different seed. Chain gardening creates a chain of seeds that the player receives, one after the other. For example, if a player plants a ruby red rose, they will harvest one or more ruby red roses AND have a chance of obtaining a bright white rose seed, if they plant that seed, they will harvest one or more bright white roses AND a have a chance of earning a jet black rose seed. The chain continues from there on. It may end once the player obtains the final seed in the chain (a Big Ol' Sunflower in this case). However, the chain can go on IF the player receives another seed from harvesting the final crop in the chain, and it'll continue to go on from there forth.

Chain gardening can be difficult to pull of due to the rarity of some of the seeds, but it can be solved easily including not just the aforementioned Seed of Bounty and Good Luck Charms, but also saving outside the wood, harvesting the crops, and shutting down the game to go back to the last save if you don't get a same or different seed, AKA soft resetting. More on the final tip can be found in Tips and Tricks.

Trivia[]

  • Certain seeds that produce larger items (Big Turnip, Starfall Radish, and Spooky Carrot) have a special animation sequence for pulling them out. They are too heavy for an individual to harvest, so a cutscene shows the Winnie-the-Pooh characters holding on to each other and the player like a rope as the try to pull the crop out. When they do, a popping noise is heard, and they cheer as the item is situated in the field and is added to your inventory.
